Plastic Surgery Pre and Post Op Care
In the last few years we have found ourselves doing more and more pre- and post-op care for patients having Blepheroplasty (lid jobs). What is interesting is that we are finding it to be more necessary with the “excellent” surgeons than with the “good” ones. The reason for this is that the “good” surgeons are looking three to four months out when they do the procedure. At his point the initial swelling and bruising is gone so you look great. The problem is that the tissues of the lid continue to relax and four months later you are wondering why the surgeon didn’t tighten it up even more. The “excellent” surgeons tend to look eight months out. The problem with this is that in that eight month period, you are more likely to have dry eye problems because the tissues of the lids have not relaxed enough to allow you to close your eyes completely with most blinks.
